ABOUT GAAPC

GLOBAL ADOPT A PEOPLE CAMPAIGN

The Global Adopt A People Campaign (GAAPC) initially started at the US Center for World Mission in the early 90’s under the direction of Phil Bogosian. While in its beginning it was more of an idea then an actual division it quickly took shape into a full fledged organized effort. In 1995 GAAPC moved overseas to the Philippines to be nearer to the work and research that it was conducting. While the idea of large scale denominational based adoptions seems obvious, in retrospect, it took much experimentation and study before it was concluded that this was the best way to mobilize a concentrated effort from churches on the task of reaching unreached people groups around the World.

Initially the plan was to work with the many denominations in the Philippines and Asia in order to coordinate adoptions with different people groups around the World. However, since then, we have been able to branch out to equip churches in Latin America and Africa where the church has exploded with growth. It is our goal to work with and equip all major evangelical denominations and in this way we have been able to equip over 2 million lay people to be directly involved in a mission effort to reach the unreached!!
