HISTORY / / STRATEGY

The Global Adopt A People Campaign (GAAPC) exists to finish the task of the Great Commission that Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:18-20– to go and make disciples of all nations. But unfortunately this is easier said then done. Often, despite the missionaries best efforts, new believers are far to few. The reason for this is laid out by Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:4, Paul writes — “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel.” This is particularly true among the Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist blocks–where Satan guards his captives carefully.

This is where GAAPC comes into the picture. While it is true that Satan holds onto his captives tightly — the church of Jesus is stronger and together in a combined effort they can leverage their power and authority in Jesus to bind the strong man and release his prisoners to the saving grace of Jesus.

GAAPC exists to carry out the task of matching the church’s strength with efforts among the unreached people groups. So for example among the 35 million Kurds in the middle east we partnered with a presbyterian missionary effort working there and connected them with 5000 Presbyterian churches in Mexico. Each church in Mexico received a kit with information and materials about the Kurds with instructions on how each member could pray for the missionary work among the Kurds. In addition each member received a color prayer brochure and detailed prayer letter from the missionaries about the work. The challenge to each church member is that they pray at least 1 minute a day for the work. That is over 250,000 minutes every day that Kurds will be saved! Imagine the power that is released from this type of prayer. Where these adoptions are launched Satan’s grip is broken and people are saved where previously there had been almost no response.

This is just an example of what we do. We have coordinated adoptions with many different evangelical denominations around the world. We have worked with Baptists, Christian and Missionary Alliance, Presbyterian, AOG, among others. The reason our approach is denominational is because there is enormous strength in these different evangelical groups with churches planted around the World that can be used for the prayer power needed to reach the unreached peoples.

In other words we would use Baptist churches in the Philippines to pray for Baptist work in China. Or, we might team AOG churches in Mexico to pray for work among the Berbers of North Africa. The wonderful thing is that these denominational churches feel a special connection to their sister churches all around the world–so they are almost always willing to pray for their denominations work regardless of nationality. Together Presbyterians praying for Presbyterians, and Baptists praying for Baptists the enormous power of the church will be used to reach the unreached Peoples around the World and finish the task that Jesus gave us so that we might “Rescue those who are being led away to death; and hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” Proverbs 24:11. This is GAAPC’s mission and heart’s desire. Altogether we have equipped over 2 million people in the non western world to pray for these unreached people group efforts!! But we are just getting started, we want to equip many, many millions more. The church members are ready, the missionaries are on the field, and the power is there– if we will just connect them all together. This is our mission.
